Okay, I'll start on this one:

I could not agree more with #2 - take a compliment. It's so discouraging to compliment someone and have them tell you you're wrong. You might compliment them a second time, but eventually you'll give up.

If someone compliments you, just smile and say, "thank you". Do not disagree or tell them they're wrong or tell them you got your sparkly new underpants sweater at Goodwill so there's no way they can be cute. I would also come up with a compliment for them for the next time you see them. Of course, you can also compliment them right then and there, but it might seem a bit insincere.
