| This is from the UNMC web site: "Science cafés involve a face-to-face conversation with a scientist about current science topics. They are open to everyone (21 and older), and take place in casual settings like pubs and coffeehouses. A science café's casual meeting place, plain language, and inclusive conversation create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for people with no science background. Each meeting is organized around an interesting topic of conversation. A scientist gives a brief presentation followed by a question and answer period. Pizza will be provided by The Nebraska Coalition of Lifesaving Cures for the first 50 people. For more information please contact Kacie Gerard at kgerard@unmc.edu or 559.4319." This Tuesday is "The Science of Attractiveness" with Dr. Kendra Schmid at the Slowdown (729 N 14th St) at 7 PM. Here is a copy of the flyer: http://www.unmc.edu/sciencecafe/docs/slowdown-poster2red.pdfEd | |

| Ed, this sounds interesting. If I'm not too exhausted by the end of the day, I will go to this.
Either coming up or the guy was just there talking about helmets that help complete synapses for learning disabled people. I really wanted to hear him speak but forgot about it.
I think the science of attractiveness sounds interesting though. Plus I could use a beer. | |

| Those sound really interesting. I'm not sure if I can make it, but I'm glad you told us about it. | |
