Due to unforseen circumstances, I am not going to be attending this event nor will I be planning a replacement event. I will leave it up in case others were planning on going so you can still make your own plans. However I am not going to be following through on the plans. I hope you all have a good weekend.


How about dinner and a movie on Friday October 24?

I'm planning movie night out at Film Streams and probably dinner at the Omaha Mattress Factory, which is right around the corner from Film Streams.

Save the date and we'll do dinner and a movie!!!

We will be seeing the movie "Tell No One" if it is still here. If it is not still here then I will look at the movie listings and decide at that time.

More details to follow as the date gets closer.

According to the Film Streams web site, they will be showing "Eyes Without A Face" at 6:45 PM and "Evil Dead 2" at 9:00 PM on 10/24. They are both in the "Film Screams" series of horror movies. (Today was the last day for "Tell No One", by the way.) "Eyes Without A Face" is about a plastic surgeon who removes the faces of young women and tries to graft them on the ruined head of his daughter. I have not seen it but it is supposed to be excellent. "Evil Dead 2" could be described as a slapstick horror-comedy - kind of like the Three Stooges, but with lots of violence and gore. In any case, I cannot see "Eyes Without A Face" that evening since I have to work until 7 PM.

If you're not into horror, Film Streams will be starting a series of Stanley Kubrick films in November. They will be showing "2001: A Space Odyssey" from November 1st through the 6th.

Ok, I will work on getting a sitter for next Friday. I just bought a coupon book, and it has a coupon for Film Streams, recieve up to 4 tickets at half price so I"m willing to share my savings for at least 4 of us!

Ooohhh...I wanted to go to this...but I'm not that much of a horror fan Too bad "Tell no one" is done.

I'm not a horror fan either Erin. We can hold each other during the scary parts. I do not want to see a movie with a guy doing operations on people though. Yuck!!

I saw enough horror movies when I was younger, so I am going to pass on these too. I'll be there for Stanley Kubrick though.

Orrrrrrrr....maybe the dinner and movie can be moved to somewhere else where there are movies that everyone can enjoy and dinner before or after near the theater of our choosing.

I can't watch Horror movies, either. Dinner sounds good though!

Tell you what. I'll plan on us seeing a movie at a regular theater and dinner nearby.

I'm not crazy about horror flicks myself. I used to have nightmares after seeing The Swiss Family Robinson and a bear chased one of the kids up the tree. That's horror enough for me.

What about those flying monkeys in Wizard of Oz? Those freaked me out.

I won't be able to join you so I don't have an opinion on what to do. I will be at the Copacabana watching Barry Manilow perform...ok it's at the Hilton, but should be at the Copa, Copacabana, the hottest spot north of Havana. You get the idea.

I had a dream once that my sister had one of those as a pet-how wierd is that???!!

I posted earlier that I won't be making it and if anyone else is planning to do something tomorrow night, I don't know. However this gathering that I have planned is canceled for now. I'm going out of town.
